IT-technologies are one of the most reliable tools against corruption, - Volodymyr Omelyan
IT-technologies are one of the most reliable tools against corruption. This was stated by Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, during the opening of Anti-Corruption Weekend on 10 December, 2016.
"I believe that IT-technologies are one of the most reliable tools against corruption. We are creating a nation of intelligent, smart people. Our heroes should to be scientists, IT-people, but not the prosecutors or judges. Behind this is the future. Now, in the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine we are creating a new direction of so-called digital infrastructure. And I think with the support of 1991 Open Data Incubator and others friends, who are there -we will succeed, "- Volodymyr Omelyan said.
The result of the Anti-Corruption Weekend will be IT- services that will help stop the possibility of implementation of corruption schemes. The purpose of the event is to sum up the results to the anti-corruption incubation program of projects based on open data of the Ministry of infrastructure with the partnership of Deloitte. And also to support anti-corruption hackathon projects based on 1991 Open Data Incubator on 10-11 December, 2016. The winners will work on their projects within the incubation program and will be integrated into the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine. All teams selected to the Incubator, during several months will work under the implementation of prototypes of their projects together with a team of mentors. Those projects in future will help to make the process of management of public resources more efficient.
