State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA) establishes FIDIC standards

State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA) joined the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ukraine to improve the quality of dredging and engineering documentation in accordance with the requirements of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC).

Memorandum on cooperation between USPA, Ministry of Infrastructure and the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ukraine was signed on 21 March 2017 in the presence of Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

"We finally stopped unsuccessful practice of preparation of tender documentation, which verified by anti-monopoly, anti-corruption and other authorities for months. We have to implement best international practices, improve the quality of documentation and quality of construction work. In turn, it will provide significant savings of budget funds,"- Volodymyr Omelyan said during the signing of the Memorandum.

"FIDIC expertise will help us to create a universal contract forms - both for dredging and other engineering works. USPA is one of the largest enterprises in the port industry of Ukraine, and we want it become an important customer on a global level. This will be possible if we increase our transparency in issues of procurement and will fully comply with international standards,"- Raivis Veckagans , the  Acting CEO of State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA), said.
