National Transport Strategy of Ukraine 2030 has the full support of European partners, - Volodymyr Omelyan

“The National Transport Strategy of Ukraine 2030 "Drive Ukraine" has full support from European partners” Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure” declared during UKRAINIAN PORTS FORUM-2018, on May 31, in Odessa.

The event organized by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority together with the Center for transport strategies gathered more than 400 companies from 23 countries, including DP World, Hutchinson Ports, Cargill, HHLA International, China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd, Clarksons Platou (Italia) SRL, representatives of IFC, EBRD and other international organizations take part in the event.

Among key speakers are Volodymyr Kistion, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Maxim Stepanov, the head of the Odessa regional state administration, Raivis Veckagans, the head of the USPA, Sevki Acuner, the EBRD Director in Ukraine, Jean-Erik DE ZAGON, Head of the EIB Representative Office in Ukraine.

"I want to thank Mr. Raivis Veckagans, the head of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority for the organization of this event, on which we gathered nearly 400 companies. They are world leaders, they are people who believe in Ukraine, who want to invest in the country. I think that from today's event we will have business contacts that will bring Ukraine forward," - Volodymyr Omelyan said. During the presentation of the National Transport Strategy 2030, the Minister of Infrastructure stressed that this it is the result of the joint work of all branches of the government: "I am sincerely grateful to Volodymyr Groysman, the Head of the Ukrainian Government  for the formation of united parliamentary-governmental team headed by the President of Ukraine and made transport industry as the main driving force of the Ukrainian economy. Thanks to this, Ukraine will have a new quality: a new quality of the economy, new workplaces, and a new modern infrastructure. This process is irreversible: the Road Fund operates, no one can canceled it. We construction roads and attract world companies in the railway, aviation and maritime industries."

Volodymyr Omelyan also noted that the National Transport Strategy received positive feedback from European partners. In particular, Violeta Bulc, the European Commissioner for Mobility and Transport and Hugues Mingarelli, EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine noted that the vision of the ministry is fully coincides with the philosophy of the European Union. "This is the case when Ukraine is fully in coherence with the EU,"- Volodymyr Omelyan emphasized. Daniel Jacques, Head of EU assistance programs in Ukraine, emphasized that the National Transport Strategy of Ukraine is in line with the objectives of the Association Agreement: "We have supported and will continue to support all progressive steps of the Ministry of Infrastructure that are in line with the European integration of Ukraine."
