We are working on digitalization of the transport sector, - Volodymyr Omelyan

On September 18, 2018, Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine met with representatives of the atene KOM Company in Berlin. During the meeting, the parties presented projects in the field of digital technologies, which are being developed and implemented in recent times, and trends in the modernization of the transport sector.

The participants emphasized on the importance of uniting efforts and exchanging of experience in the implementation of the projects. In particular, within the framework of cooperation and with the participation of foreign experts, the Digital Office will be created, which will become a competence center for the development of strategic advice on digital transformations in the transport sector.

"Structural changes in the field of digital infrastructure are the priority goals of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the realization of which should lay the foundation for the modernization of the transport industry. Cooperation with world leaders in the field of innovative technologies is the key to successful work in this direction that is why we are happy to get support from German colleagues. Such cooperation was prepared and became possible thanks to the support of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure of Germany and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Germany", - Volodymyr Omelyan noted.

According to Tim Brauckmüller, managing partner at atene KOM, the transport industry needs intelligent mobility concepts for its dynamic development. Transport safety, smart roads and intelligent logistics are impossible without the development of powerful digital channels. "We are pleased to cooperate with Ukraine and help in further development of digital infrastructure," - Braukmiller said.

On a result of the meeting, it was agreed in the nearest days to consolidate the partnership by signing the Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation.
