During the visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine met with Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Dr. Ulrich Nussbaum, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and  Dr. Gerhard Schulz, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. In particular, financing of infrastructure projects in the eastern regions of Ukraine in pursuance of agreements that were previously reached by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel.

The German side agreed to consider implementation of projects in certain cities on the east of Ukraine, which were affected by Russian occupation and need to rebuild the infrastructure of cities.

Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany assured the Ukrainian side that Germany will continue its efforts to continue the transit of gas through the territory of Ukraine in the European direction, regardless of the implementation of other projects, including the North Stream 2 project.
