Volodymyr Omelyan took part in the Global Investment in Aviation Summit

Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, during his working visit to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) took part in the Global Investment in Aviation Summit.

Global Investment in Aviation Summit is the first global summit on investment in aviation sector, which takes place in Dubai. Among the participants - 500 representatives of the world aviation industry: companies producing aircrafts and equipment, investors, managers of major airlines and airports, official high-level delegations from 40 countries.

Volodymyr Omelyan outlined the main directions of the aviation sector reform in Ukraine: the development of regional airports, cheapen of air tickets due to the attraction of low cost airlines to Ukraine, the introduction of an honest and transparent market of air services. According to Volodymyr Omelyan, the focus on these three areas in the work of the Ministry headed by him has caused a real boom in aviation sector in Ukraine.

"We have a fantastic growth of passenger traffic both from the largest airports of Ukraine and from regional airports. More and more foreign airlines enter the Ukrainian market, and those who work for a long time, expanding their presence. The challenge for the coming years is to keep this pace of development. The strategic goal is to transform Ukraine into international hub between Europe and Asia. Today, growth of air transportation in Ukraine has the highest rates in Europe, and market opportunities are still high. For three to five years, the one who invests in Ukraine today -  wins », - Volodymyr Omelyan said.

Among the projects that may be interesting to foreign investors, the Minister of Infrastructure called the development of a multimodal international transport hub on the base of the airport "Bila Tserkva", the reconstruction of the airfield in Gostomel, with the further development of cargo and passenger terminals.

He added that the aviation sphere is becoming one of the most attractive and promising in Ukraine for investment.
