Volodymyr Omelyan, together with the team, presented plans for the road, rail, maritime and postal industries of Ukraine for 2019
On January 31, 2019, during the press conference at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure has presented plans for the road, rail, maritime and postal industries of Ukraine for 2019. The event was also attended by Slawomir Novak - Head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine, Yevgen Kravtsov - Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsya", Raivis Veckagans - Head of the State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority and Igor Smilyansky - General Director of JSC "Ukrposhta".
At the beginning of the press conference, Volodymyr Omelyan stated that the National Transport Strategy by 2030 "Drive Ukraine 2030" is a basis in the implementation of infrastructure reforms: "We will develop international transport corridors, build road network and develop railway in accordance with the Strategy."
The head of the Ministry said that the restoration of roads remains one of the key priorities of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and Ukravtodor in 2019: “The total amount of the State Road Fund will be more than 50 billion UAH. Last year, 42.5 billion UAH were directed from all sources of financing for roads. The development of the GO Highway international corridor will continue. The key projects for Ukravtodor will be the repair of the Zaporizhzhya – Mariupol and Mykolayiv – Kropyvnytskyi highways, the implementation of the first automatic weigh – in - motion project on the entrances to Kyiv and others. We must increase volume of repaired roads with each next year”.
Slawomir Novak, the head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) noted that this year road repairs will be continued according to the route principle and in accordance with the Road Development Program for 2018-2022.
Among the main projects, which were also announced by Slawomir Novak are: repair of the N31 Dnipro - Reshetilivka highway, M15 Odesa – Reni highway, road R15 Merefa - Pavlograd, north bypass of Rivne and Lviv investment project.
"Separate funding for GO Highway will amount UAH 4 billion", - the head of Ukravtodor said.
"I am convinced that due to the openness of the head of Ukravtodor, we have a fairly good level of competition at the market. A high competition means a lower price and higher quality in a reasonable time. I hope that this trend will continue, and for now exciting 40 companies will be added 20 more", - Volodymyr Omelyan added.
