Lviv region is among the leaders in the restoration of roads, - Volodymyr Omelyan during a working visit to Lviv region

Today, on March 14, 2019, during a working visit to the Western Ukraine, Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, inspected the road infrastructure of the Lviv region, met with Oleg Synyutka, the head of the Lviv regional state administration and gave an open lecture to the students of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

Lviv region is among the leaders in the restoration of roads. According to the results of 2018, Lviv region is among the top-7 regions of Ukraine in terms of the use of funds of the Road Fund, which were used on the restoration of local roads. From 2016 to 2018, about UAH 67 billion were spent on road repairs in Lviv region. In 2019, over UAH 1 billion will be provided for repair and construction works, minor repairs and maintenance of state roads in the Lviv region", - the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.

Volodymyr Omelyan noted the constant attention of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to the Lviv region, high-quality work of the head of the Lviv region Oleg Synyutka and local authorities. The Minister of Infrastructure also outlined the further prospects for the development of the International airport "Lviv": "Due to our joint efforts over the past 3 years, Lviv airport have turned into a modern air hub. In January-February 2019, the passenger traffic of the airport increased by 50% compared with the same period last year, the number of flights increased by 24%. Thanks to the support of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure created conditions for low-cost operation in Ukraine. The share of low-cost airline has reached 30% and will continue to increase. Ukrainians are finally able to travel to the EU for affordable money. For 2019 the Ministry, together with the airport's management, plans to reconstruct the old passenger terminal into the terminal of high comfort, construction of a hangar, reconstruction of the hotel "Tustan" and  construction of a cargo terminal", - said Volodymyr Omelyan.

The Minister of Infrastructure also held a meeting with representatives of business at the western office of the European Business Association. The participants discussed the problems of developing border infrastructure, increasing the number of crossing points and the problem of providing carriers with permits. Volodymyr Omelyan stressed that the ministry was and will be open for complaints and business proposals: "Production, trade, logistics are driving forces for economic development. The Ministry will continue to simplify conditions for business and support progressive initiatives. "
