Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Ukraine Hadi Nasser Mansour Al-Hajri. The meeting took place today, on April 9, 2019, in Kyiv.

The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of transport and investment in infrastructure projects in Ukraine, including the deepening of cooperation in aviation and the maritime industry. Volodymyr Omelyan stressed on the importance of the further development of direct flights between Qatar and Ukraine to ensure sustainable positive dynamics of Ukrainian-Qatari cooperation in all spheres.

The head of the Ministry informed that the aviation industry of Ukraine is developing rapidly, passenger traffic in 2018 was a record and in 3-4 years, this figure is quite possible to double. He suggested to the Qatari side to consider the possibility of creating a subsidiary company in Ukraine - Qatar Airways, and to develop cooperation in the field of cargo aviation.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine also noted the successful start of cooperation on the exchange of experience in the field of port development management and the establishment of direct and active dialogue at the level of port administrations of Ukraine and Qatar.

Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine stressed that the Ukrainian side welcomes Qatari companies, invites them to implement joint infrastructure projects and is interested in attracting Qatar experience and specialists in the modernization of the transport industry of Ukraine.

Mr. Hadi Nasser Mansour Al-Hajri, expressed his gratitude to Volodymyr Omelyan for constructive dialogue, significant achievements and a perspective vision of the development of infrastructure relations between the two countries.
