The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran invited Ukraine to join the international Persian Gulf-Black Sea Transport Corridor Agreement, - Victor Dovhan

The delegation of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, headed by Viktor Dovhan, the Deputy Minister for European integration,  together with the PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”  have visited Iran on February 5-7, 2017.  There were held negotiations with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran on cooperation in the field of transport and developing of cargo transportation.

Priority projects in the cooperation with Ukraine are railway construction in areas Kermanshah – Malar, Rasht - Astara and Tabriz - Mane. Specialists of the regional branch of “Pridniprovska Railway” have made an inspection of the implementation of the first project, the estimated cost of which will amount to 2.3 million dollars.

According to the concluded in July 2016 Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, assumed that the PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” can build 1,000 km railway in Iran.

The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran invited Ukraine to join the international Persian Gulf-Black Sea Transport Corridor Agreement. Victor Dovhan noted that this initiative is important for the development of the transport corridor India – Iran – Black Sea, and supported the involvement of additional cargo traffic on TRANS-Caspian Corridor.
