We want to build European infrastructure in Ukraine, - Volodymyr Omelyan

All our efforts aimed to build a European infrastructure in Ukraine. This was stated by Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine during a meeting with Violeta Bulc, the European Commissioner for Mobility and Transport, which took place on February 21, 2017 in Geneva in the framework of the 79th session of the Inland Transport Committee (ITC) of the European Economic Commission of the United Nations Organization.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine informed the European Commissioner for Mobility and Transport about road-, maritime- and avia- reforms in Ukraine, as well as cooperation with European partners in implementation of joint projects, in particular, development of border infrastructure. Violeta Bulc noted that the European Union oversees the reforms in Ukraine, praised work of the Ministry of infrastructure towards reforming the industry and fight against corruption, and assured of full support of Volodymyr Omelyan, as the Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine.

The sides agreed to establish a regular transport dialogue EU-Ukraine with the definition of priorities in the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.

The Commissioner also praised Ukraine's progress in improvement of road safety.

According to the results of the 79th session of the Inland Transport Committee (ITC) of the European Economic Commission of the United Nations Organization were signed a ministerial resolution “Embracing the new era for sustainable inland transport and mobility”.
