BUNGE invests $ 30 Million in the development of Mykolaiv Sea Port infrastructure, - Volodymyr Omelyan

US headquartered agribusiness company Bunge Limited invests $ 30 million in the development of Mykolaiv Sea Port infrastructure. The relevant Memorandum was signed on August 28, 2017 at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.  Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ms. Marie L. Yovanovitch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America in Ukraine, Andriy Gunder, the President of the American Chamber of Commerce, Raivis Veckagans, acting CEO of the SE “Ukrainian Sea Port Authority”, Tommy Jensen, CEO, Bunge Europe, Middle East & Africa and Oleksandr Troshchenko, director of the Mykolaiv Sea Port were also attended the meeting.

This is the third major infrastructure project implemented by BUNGE in Mykolaiv Sea Port. Ukraine waits for such investor as BUNGE.  BUNGE is one of the world's leading exporters of grain and oil cargoes and one of the major investors in Mykolaiv Sea Port. In 2011, there were invested US $ 100 million in the construction of new modern terminal. In 2016, there were invested US $ 180 million in construction of transshipping complex. “We are convinced that the construction of such objects increases the value of Ukraine, creates new workplaces, adds attractiveness not only to the agrarian sector, but also to the economy of the country. We believe that the third complex of terminals, memorandum of which is signed today, will significantly increase transshipment and processing on the territory of the port. Ukraine is open for investors and welcomes them in every corner of our country. I would like sincerely thank the American Embassy, the reliable partner of the Ministry of Infrastructure in all major projects”, - Volodymyr Omelyan said.

Ms. Marie L. Yovanovitch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America in Ukraine, emphasized that Ukraine becomes more attractive for foreign investors.
