Ukrainian infrastructure is open for investment and innovation, is actively being reformed and integrated into the European infrastructure space. Volodymyr Omelyan, the by Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine stated the above during the Czech-Ukrainian Business Forum in Prague (Czech Republic), which took place on October 26, 2018.

"We have to concentrate our efforts on the new and advanced. IT - is the direction on which we need to look at jointly with the Czech Republic. Digital infrastructure and the digital economy can create the large added value for our states. We have agreed with Brussels that innovative transport solutions will be tested in Ukraine. Ukrainian infrastructure is open for investments and innovations, is actively being reformed and integrated into the European infrastructure space", - Volodymyr Omelyan said.

The Head of the Ministry stressed that the creation of conditions for the development of all types of transport is the main priority of the transport policy of the Ukrainian government. A number of European integration bills have been prepared, reforms cover all sectors. The Ministry of Infrastructure actively cooperates with the World Bank, the International Finance Company, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and is interested in the expanding of cooperation with other investors and partners.

“Our goal is to find the best way to structure cooperation in infrastructure projects in Ukraine. If infrastructure projects are successful, this will be an important signal for foreign investors. We have no right to mistake. Because if we fail, it will give the wrong sign to the international market and for years will slow down our development ", - Volodymyr Omelyan said.

The Minister of Infrastructure stressed that Ukraine is in the geographical center of Europe, which makes it an ideal transit hub for the European Union, the Middle East and Asia. The most important international transport corridors pass through the territory of Ukraine, in particular, Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor. In order to realize transit potential of Ukraine, develop infrastructure and attract strategic investors, the Ministry is actively developing a public-private partnerships and concession projects.

"Stevedoring company" Olvia ", seaports Kherson, Chornomorsk and Yuzhny are preparing for the concession. It is also planned concession projects for international airports Boryspil and Lviv. The implementation of these concession projects will open a unique opportunities for the modernization of infrastructure, development of multimodal transportation, attraction of investment and additional passenger and cargo traffic. "

The head of the Ministry, speaking with representatives of the Czech business, said that the infrastructure sector is becoming more and more attractive for investments with every year and there is already a real competition between big foreign transport companies, particularly in the field of aviation.

The participants expressed confidence that the results of the business forum will contribute to the implementation of joint projects, finding of effective ways and tools for interaction between business and government institutions to ensure stability and development of friendly relations and cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
