Vladyslav Kryklii, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine met with Jassim Al Sulaiti, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Qatar
On January 31, 2020, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii met with the Minister of Transport and Communications of Qatar, Jassim Al Sulaiti.
The parties discussed achievements and prospective directions of cooperation in the field of transport and international logistics.
Vladyslav Kryklii noted that the cooperation between Ukraine and Qatar in the aviation and port spheres has a good dynamics: “The end of last year and the beginning of the current year were marked by two important events in the history of Ukrainian-Qatari relations. On November 11, 2019, a Protocol was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the State of Qatar, which liberalizes air services between our countries. Two months later, the Qatari company QTerminals became the winner of the concession tender in the port of Olvia. This is an excellent dynamic of mutually beneficial bilateral relations and we are interested in its further development,” the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.
The head of the Ministry informed that active preparations are underway for a number of concession tenders in the seaports of Chornomorsk, Odesa, Mariupol, Berdyansk. Regional airports and railway stations are also preparing for concessions. Qatari companies can take part in all these concession projects.
“Developing joint infrastructure projects, Ukraine and Qatar mutually increase their roles in international logistic and becoming important transport links in the communication between East and West, Asia and Europe. This is the realization of transit potential, investments in the development of the national economy and infrastructure, new jobs, increased exports, additional revenues to the state budget,” Vladislav Kryklii said
The Minister of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar, Jassim Al Sulaiti, noted the positive dynamics of Ukrainian-Qatari relations in the field of transport and infrastructure.
