Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov met with UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Osnat Lubrani.

The implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the European Green Course and digital solutions in the field of infrastructure, as well as the improvement of the situation of maritime transport workers were among the discussed topics.

Oleksandr Kubrakov told about current projects that are currently being implemented by the Ministry.

  • A pilot project has been launched to develop standards for infrastructure accessibility, as part of the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska. General recommendations for the development of different types of transport infrastructure such as airports, railway stations, vehicles, etc. will be created. By the end of 2022, the first barrier-free objects will appear.
  • A joint project with the EIB "Urban Public Transport" is being implemented, in the framework of which the cities of Ukraine receive new electric transport such as trams and trolleybuses designed for the needs of less mobile groups. Sumy, Kharkiv and Lutsk have already received 52 new trolleybuses of domestic production. In the near future, another 30 trams and 45 trolleybuses will be delivered to Lviv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kyiv and Lutsk.
  • In the framework of Ukravtodor and EBRD cooperation, the Ukravtodor Action Plan to support the deployment of electric vehicles and assess the impact on the financing model is being developed. Also, with the participation of the World Bank, a study is being conducted on the possibility of deploying the National Network of Gas Stations. In parallel, the process of developing and adopting relevant legislative changes continues.
  • Reform has begun in the field of training and certification of seafarers. In particular, a joint project of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the USAID / UK aid project "Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services / TAPAS" was launched. The result of the project will be the creation of a transparent electronic service for seafarers. An experiment using the international testing system CES 6.0 is also being introduced and systemic legislative solutions for the industry are being developed.
