Ukraine and Azerbaijan have agreed to increase the quota of transportation permits for the first time in 10 years

The Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Joint Commission on International Road Transport took place on September 16-17.

The result of the meeting was an agreement on obtaining additional permits for Ukrainian carriers for the current year and the quota increase for 2022.

What did they agree on?

  • In 2021, the Ukrainian side will receive an additional 850 universal permits and 150 for transportation to / from third countries.
  • For 2022, the quota of universal permits was increased by 45%, to 3,200, and permits for transportation to/from third countries by 27%, to 1,400.

It should be noted that Ukrainian carriers will receive an increased quota of permits for Azerbaijan for the first time in the last 10 years.

During the negotiations the parties also discussed the current state of trade between the countries and exchanged statistical data on the trips performed by road carriers.

In addition, the Azerbaijan side at the request of the Ukrainian delegation said that in accordance with the legislation of Azerbaijan, if the goods from a third country are not cleared through customs, but only reloaded on the territory of Ukraine, the regulatory authorities will require permits for transportation to/from third countries.
