The Czech Republic will help Ukraine restore the Dnipropetrovsk region
The Czech Republic will help restore the Dnipropetrovsk region. Three sectors are the top priority of Prague – energy generation, water supply, and health care.
This was discussed during the meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration – Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, and the Czech Governmental Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Tomáš Kopečný.
"I am grateful for all the help Ukraine has already received from the Czech Republic. However, I will be frank: every day, our state is being destroyed, so we have to work on the restoration, especially of critical infrastructure. At the Ministry, we are laying the foundation for the comprehensive development of communities and territories. We will create policies and programs for further recovery that consider the regions’ peculiarities and the post-war development of the entire country. I think we can already talk about further areas of cooperation," said Oleksiy Kuleba.
The Czech Republic expressed its readiness to take patronage over the restoration of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Parties discussed establishing a permanent working group to work on restoration projects and the opening of the Czech Republic’s consulate general in Dnipro.
"We will be very happy to focus on a new project that you and I agree on and put all our efforts where others refuse to do it. We support Ukraine and its residents because this is a contribution to our security," Tomáš Kopečný emphasized.
Tomáš Kopečný said that the Czech Republic is already implementing several projects in the Kharkiv region. For example, the region has already received seven cogeneration stations for the communities, a 20 MW turbine for the city, and expensive equipment for the Kharkiv Heat Networks utility company.
As part of its support for the Dnipropetrovsk region from 2023 to 2024, the Czech Republic provided multi-functional medical beds and diesel generators for Kryvyi Rih and gas heaters, medical equipment, and water purification stations for Marhanets and Nikopol.
It is worth noting that in addition to humanitarian aid, the Czech Republic provides significant military support to Ukraine.
