In the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine was held the first meeting of supervisory board of the Public-Private Partnership office (PPP). This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine during the press conference on November 1, 2016.
"Today we are launching a project office on public-private partnerships. Already was held the first meeting of supervisory board of the Public-Private Partnership office, which included: the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Nadezhda Kaznacheeva, President and CEO of Western NIS Enterprise Fund in Ukraine Jaroslawa Zelinsky Johnson, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Yulia Kovaliv, representatives of the European Bank for reconstruction and development.
During many meetings with foreign companies the issue of public-private partnerships, sounds among the first: Which projects are ready? What we are ready to offer business? On what conditions? Earlier, in response to such questions, the Ukrainian government is mostly keep silent. We will not remain silent over. We are launching the office, we have decent people ", - said the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan.
Among main assignments of work of the office on public-private partnerships are: changes in legislation, continuance to work on the law on concessions, the implementation of pilot projects of public-private partnership and involvement of private investors to infrastructure projects.
"The key moments in the work of the project office will be amending the legislation of public-private partnership, which, unfortunately, today does not respond modern requirements, and together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, continue work on the Law concessions. I hope by the mid-November, we will be able to congregate at the interdepartmental level and discuss the process. The second item in the work of office will be the implementation of pilot projects of public-private partnerships. And the third point, which is most important, involvement of private investors in infrastructure projects", - said Volodymyr Omelyan.
The Minister noted that first projects will be stevedoring company "Olvia", Kherson sea port and ferry terminal at sea port "Chernomorsk".
