On February 22, 2018, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine signed a Memorandum on the launch of the transport innovation project HypeUA, within which the development of the newest transport technologies in Ukraine, first of all, the high-speed transport system Hyperloop will be held.

In this initiative, the partners of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine are: the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, State Enterprise "Ukroboronprom", Octagonal Corporation, State Enterprise "Production Association Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant named after A.M. Makarov"(YUZHMASH), KZESO, Interpipe Ukraine LLC, Unit.City, Dnipro Development Agency, Ukrainian Institute for the Future and Innovation Development Platform".

Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine noted: "Ukraine has a great human and technical potential. We must focus on revitalization of our technologies and became a country that consider on the construction of innovative modes of transport, in particular, Hyperloop ".

"Together, we launch the transport innovation project HypeUA, within which we will develop innovative transport systems in Ukraine.  Within the framework of the project, we will consider on the possibility of building a test pipe in Dnipro and creation an innovative environment for the development of transport startups", - Volodymyr Omelyan stressed.

"We have developed three stages of implementation of the project. The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are working now on the first stage. We calculate all risks, potential and technologies. I am sure at 99% that the scientific assessment will be positive. Then we will proceed to the second stage – building of the test pipe in Dnipro, under which we want to attract venture investments. I do not think that the state will be effective owner, builder, or the developer of the new type of transport. It should be a private initiative. Third stage is an industrial production. I am very happy that Ukraine will be among top-5 countries of the world that currently develop this project and first country where policy of creation of a new type of transport is supported by the Government", - the head of the Ministry added.

Separately, Volodymyr Omelyan noted the work of Oleksandr Ozeran, the Project Coordinator and Director General of the Directorate of Digital Transport Infrastructure: "This is an example when new specialists come to the public service and give the country new quality and positive result."
