Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine have met with Andrzej Adamczyk, the Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland

On June 22, 2018, Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine was with working visit to the Republic of Poland. The key event of the trip was the meeting with Andrzej Adamczyk, the Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland. The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, development of the VIA CARPATIA transport corridor, as well as the integration of the national transport network into the TEN-T corridors.

The parties positively assessed results of the launch of the Kyiv-Peremyshl railway connection in 2016, noting its great importance for both countries. For comparison: in 2016, 4 thousand passengers used this train and in 2017 - 317 thousand. The sides also discussed issues of the construction of the transnational transport corridor Go Highway and development of border infrastructure.

Volodymyr Omelyan and Andrzej Adamchik agreed to create a working group to develop the optimal solution for the launch of the railway route Lublin-Lviv.

"By the autumn, we have to reach an optimal solution for both countries. I hope that in autumn we will have a meeting of the Ministers of Infrastructure of Ukraine and Poland in Lviv and sign the relevant agreement on the launch of the Lublin-Lviv railway route, "- Volodymyr Omelyan informed.

Following the meeting, the parties signed the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Maintenance of Road Border Bridge Facilities on the Ukrainian-Polish State Border.

The agreement provides definition of the legal basis under which a set of technical and organizational measures will be implemented to ensure the proper operation of the bridge structures located on the common Ukrainian-Polish state border.
