During the working visit to the United States, Volodymyr Omelyan - the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine met with the management of the US Postal Service: Peter Chandler, Director for International Cooperation and Silvia Baylis, Development Manager.

Volodymyr Omelyan stated that e-commerce in Ukraine is developing rapidly, while the national postal operator of Ukraine - "Ukrposhta" successfully works with world-wide online stores, ensuring the delivery of goods to Ukraine.

"Ukrainians order goods from all over the world, demand for goods is increasing, but delivery remains an urgent issue. We are interested in bringing Amazon, the world's largest online retailer of products and services via the Internet, to Ukraine. There is a demand, but there is no direct solution for delivery", - the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure said.

Volodymyr Omelyan invited the US side to consider the possibilities of cooperation between Ukrposhta and the US Postal Service, in particular, to sign an agreement between Ukrposhta and the US Postal Service: "Such agreement will provide special tariffs and a guaranteed service for US e-commerce companies supplying goods to Ukraine. We need a joint commercial impetus for the development of this segment. Ukrposhta is ready to offer the best commercial conditions and marketing support".

Volodymyr Omelyan invited the representatives of the US Postal Service to visit Ukraine.

US Postal Service representatives welcomed the initiative of the Ukrainian Minister for e-commerce development and expressed their readiness to develop this question.
