We invite companies from the USA to join concession projects in Ukraine, - Vladyslav Kryklii
On February 5, 2020, Vladyslav Kryklii, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine met with Kristina Kvien, US Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in Ukraine and Caleb McCarry, Counselor to the Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
The parties discussed the state and perspective directions of Ukrainian-American cooperation in the field of infrastructure.
Kristina Kvien, US Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in Ukraine positively noted the cooperation between Ukraine and the USA and expressed hope for the further development of mutually beneficial relations between the countries.
Vladyslav Kryklii stressed that the Ministry of Infrastructure is actively working on the development and implementation of concession projects, which allow to implement progressive and effective methods of managing of large state-owned infrastructure facilities and to attract strategic investors.
“Implementation of concession mechanism will allow the state to attract significant private investment for modernization and increase the efficiency of the use of such infrastructure facilities as sea and river ports, roads, airports, and other public property. It will allow realize Ukraine’s transit potential and give a new quality of transport services. We invite US companies to join concession projects in Ukraine,” Vladislav Kryklii said.
The head of the Ministry emphasized that the first concession tenders in the port industry have recently been completed and preparation of concession projects in the seaports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, Mariupol, Berdyansk is still ongoing. The projects of concession roads Lviv - Stryi and Lviv - Ternopil, as well as regional airports and railway stations are being developed.
Caleb McCarry, Counselor to the Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation(DFC) said that the DFC is considering participation in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Ukraine.
