On 11 June, the first plane arrived from Saudi Arabia at Boryspil International Airport. The return flight takes place today as well, at 20:30. Currently, flights between the countries will be operated three times a week. But in the near future the airline will provide daily flights.

In 2020, 4,000 citizens of Saudi Arabia visited Ukraine. With the opening of a direct flight, the flight time from Ukraine to Saudi Arabia will be approximately 5 hours. Previously, it was possible to fly to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia only with transfers at the airports of Istanbul, Doha and Dubai.

5,100 tickets have already been sold for direct flights from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ukraine. Flynas executives noted that they believe in Ukraine's tourism potential and its attractiveness for citizens of the region.

"The lack of comfortable transport links is one of the obstacles to the revival of economic and social relations. I would like to emphasize that we see a significant potential in cooperation with countries of the Middle East, including the field of infrastructure. The establishment of direct regular air service with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important step to enhance the cooperation between the countries," Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.

"The Gulf countries are a promising direction for the development of tourist flows, especially for Ukraine. The combination of green, mountain, cultural and gastronomic tourism is something that may be of interest to travelers from the Middle East," Chair of the State Agency for Tourism Development (SATD) of Ukraine Mariana Oleskiv said.

Currently, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, together with SATD, Boryspil International Airport and relevant institutions are developing detailed rules for working with tourists from the Middle East. After working out a clear system, similar recommendations will be provided to Odesa and Lviv airports, where it is also planned to provide direct flights with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the near future.
