On 30 June, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov and the Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China Wang Wentao signed an intergovernmental agreement. This agreement provides for the expansion of cooperation between Ukraine and China in order to implement joint projects in the field of infrastructure construction.

Railway transit, airports, ports, transport communications and municipal engineering are among the priorities of cooperation.

According to the agreement, Ukraine and China:

  • encourage companies and financial institutions of both countries to cooperate in the field of infrastructure construction;
  • contribute to the establishment of economic ties between the two countries and provide the necessary assistance and support in the implementation of joint projects.

"Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the People's Republic of China on cooperation in the field of infrastructure construction" envisages attracting funding on preferential terms from the Government of the People's Republic of China, which are necessary for the implementation of infrastructure projects.

As a result of joint consultations, the parties approve potential cooperation projects supported by China.

Ukraine and China are strategic partners. The signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of infrastructure construction is the further step of the governments of Ukraine and China to deepen trade and economic cooperation, which is in the common interests of the two parties.
