The management crisis in JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" is in the most acute phase of all the years of Independence of Ukraine, the state of critical infrastructure was open for discussion at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

However, after long negotiations we finally have a list of concrete steps, agreed upon by all parties, to implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council.

At the time of preparation of the tender the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia recommended to the Government to appoint a new acting Chairman of the board – Oleksandr Kamyshin, who will be an anti-crisis manager.

The Anti-crisis headquarters of Ukrzaliznytsia is being set up under the Ministry of Infrastructure. The main task of the Anti-crisis headquarters is the control of the necessary decisions for the Ukrainian Railways. I will personally control the work of the headquarters.

I am grateful to our international partners, in particular the G7, the EBRD, the EIB and the World Bank for their constructiveness and support in reaching this decision, which was adopted in compliance with all OECD standards.

We expect that in a few months the Supervisory Board will propose to the Government the candidacy of a new permanent Chairman of the Board.

I believe that the main tasks for the development of the industry, which must be implemented in the near future are:

а) raising tariffs for freight transportation, because without market tariffs, the normal development of Ukrzaliznytsia is impossible;

б) adjustment of purchase of the electric power directly from the producer – Energoatom;

в) attracting international investors to the Ukrainian market;

г) purchase of new trains and locomotives.

Implementation of these decisions is the near future is what we expect from the new Head of Ukrzaliznytsia.

There are clear terms and tasks and I'm sure we will succeed.
