19 February 2022, 19:44

Updated information: Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) starts selling tickets to Munich and Geneva to provide flights that Lufthansa Group is temporarily unable to operate. In addition, UIA is increasing the capacity of aircraft on these routes.

"Today, Lufthansa Group has taken the decision to temporarily suspend flights to Kyiv and Odesa. Restrictions are introduced for the period from 21 to 28 February.

Some flights from Kyiv and Odesa will be operated today and tomorrow. Passengers of canceled flights are asked to contact the Lufthansa Service Center. Flights to/from Lviv will continue to operate regularly.

To provide uninterrupted air services, the following options are under development:
▪️Lufthansa gives the availability of transporting passengers on its routes, primarily to Star Alliance member companies and other partners.
▪️The Ministry of Infrastructure is negotiating with Ukrainian air carriers on the possibility of launching additional flights as soon as possible on routes that Lufthansa Group will not be able to operate.

It should be mentioned, that the airspace over Ukraine remains open." – Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov.
