Transport infrastructure: all projects submitted by Ukraine as part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program have been approved
The decision to approve four transport infrastructure development projects submitted by the Ukrainian side was approved during the Program's Steering Committee meeting on July 16.
“Integration of the Ukrainian railway system into the EU transport system. Stage 1”
The project envisages improving the railway network and developing the 1435 mm gauge to ensure technological compatibility and increase the capacity of the railway infrastructure.
“Organization of traffic flows to increase the infrastructure capacity, safety, and efficiency of border crossing services on the common road Romania-Moldova-Ukraine checkpoint Galati/Giurgiulesti/Reni.”
The project was developed and submitted jointly with Moldovan and Romanian colleagues. Its implementation will ensure the continuity of traffic between these checkpoints.
“Ukrainian River Information Service on the Danube River - UkrRIS on the Danube River”
The project aims to create and implement a river information service on the Ukrainian part of the Danube River, including its integration into the EuRIS and CEERIS portals of the RIS COMEX project. It also aims to ensure an adequate level of navigation safety and provide harmonized information services to ships on inland waterways.
“Integrated Modernization of the European CNS Network”
The project focuses on restoring Ukraine's air navigation industry and further modernizing the infrastructure for communication, navigation, surveillance, and aeronautical information.
