The contract between the Ukrainian company SkyUP and Boeing is an unprecedented contract for Ukrainian airlines. Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure, commented the above about the signing by Ukrainian airline SkyUp and the Boeing Company a $ 624 million contract for the production of five 737 MAX airplanes

"For the last two years, the aviation industry of Ukraine has demonstrated a rapid growth - more than 30% per year. This is due to the transparent aviation policy of the Ministry of Infrastructure. Good dynamic demonstrates not only central airports of the country, but also a number of regional airports. People want to fly cheap, convenient and safe. I personally advocate the expansion of the budget fares, entering to Ukraine of world’s carriers and development of Ukrainian airlines.

I am happy that we have achieve those goals that we set to ourselves. I would like to congratulate SkyUP on the signing a contract with Boeing for the production of five new Boeing airplanes: two Boeing 737 Max 8 and three Boeing 737 Max 10 with the option of ordering another five planes. Thus, in the years 2023-2024 in Ukraine there will be ten new ultra-modern aircraft that will be used by the Ukrainian airline. This is an unprecedented contract for Ukrainian airlines. Ukraine is in the world mainstream - we order aircraft, the serial production of which will begin only in 2021. The contract with Boeing is a real breakthrough. We promised to create a Ukrainian carrier - it have been created.

We promised to increase competition, improve the quality of services with  simultaneous cheapening - we laid for this all the prerequisites.

The Ukrainian Railways has a contract with General Electric, the Ukrainian airline has a contract with Boeing, and I believe in further successful cooperation with the world's giants", - Volodymyr Omelyan said.
