The Ministry of Infrastructure is expanding the successful experience of the «Olvia» stevedoring company in the implementation of the electronic port management system "e-Port", which makes the operation of other seaports more transparent and efficient.  Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, stated the above during the press conference at the Ministry of Infrastructure, which took place on 17 August, 2018. Ruslan Oliynyk, the Head of State Enterprise Stevedore Company «Olvia» and Yehor Stefanovych, E-Ukraine Chairman, also took part in the event.

Volodymyr Omelyan said that the Ministry of Infrastructure has been actively digitalizing the maritime industry and the maximum automation of all production processes in the ports for the last 2 years. To create and implement automated systems, such as the "Single Sea Window" and the electronic control system "E-Port", representatives of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, state stevedoring companies and the Ukrainian Railways were involved in the work. The E-Port system is the state system, managed by the public administration and all income from it are generated in the state revenue.

" Taking into account  the idea of developing and implementing the E-Port system, the features and complexity of the reforming process of the port industry, we decided to start with a pilot project - to automate all the work of one particular port. The Olvia port has become the test ground for the E-Port system. I am glad that joint efforts have given a very good result - the processing of cargoes have been accelerated by 34.4% and accordingly the cargo handling have been accelerated", - the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.

The Minister of Infrastructure also stressed that the efforts of the Ministry are aimed on the complete modernization of the port industry. It is not just about the digital technologies, but also about the concession - the world-recognized way to make ports an effective business for the state and partners. The Ministry of Infrastructure, together with international partners is working on the preparation of the concession projects in the Ukrainian ports. "The concession does not lead to the liquidation of a port as it is manipulates and misleads people, on the contrary - it leads to the elimination of corruption flows and brings the port to a new level of development and gives prospects to its employees. We assure that all concessionary competitions will be transparent and public"- Volodymyr Omelyan said.
