Today, on December 11, 2018, in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects of Ukraine and China Airport Construction Group Corporation signed Memorandum of Understanding. Mykola Bozhko, the head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects of Ukraine, representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Reform Support Team were attended the event.

China Airport Construction Group Corporation (founded in 1954, Beijing) provides engineering design and consultancy, engineering project management, and construction services for civil airports construction projects in China and internationally. Its services include design and consulting, management, project supervision, engineering construction, scientific research development, and communication.

The signing of the Memorandum was a continuation of the cooperation started in July this year, during a visit to Ukraine representatives of the largest Chinese companies.

The Minister of Infrastructure noted the successful work of Chinese business in Ukraine: “Two large Chinese companies are working in the field of road construction in Ukraine. We also have a successful example of dredging works in the Yuzhny port. I am very pleased that our bilateral cooperation is expanding on the aviation industry”.

Volodymyr Omelyan congratulated sides with the conclusions of the Memorandum noted on the importance of the modernization of Ukrainian airports: “The aviation industry of Ukraine is growing rapidly. On the next week, Ukraine's airports will meet a 20 millionth passenger. A few years ago, such result seemed unattainable, but today, it is a reality. Our goal is that at least 50% of the population of Ukraine to use air transport. To achieve this goal we need to have an extensive network of airports. Next year we will begin construction of a new airport between the Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. This will be a new modern project and the help of world companies is extremely important for us. Therefore, we welcome cooperation with world business, which together with us will work on projects in the aviation industry and on the modernization of regional airports, "-Volodymyr Omelyan said.
