Ukraine is ready to liberalize road transport connection with Turkey as early as 2020, - Vladyslav Kryklii

Today, on November 25, 2019, within the framework of a working visit to London, Vladyslav Kryklii, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine noted the fruitful cooperation in the field of transport and emphasized that Ukraine highly appreciates friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the Republic of Turkey.

Vladyslav Kryklii expressed gratitude for the position of the Republic of Turkey for non-recognition of annexation of Crimea and support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. He also emphasized that constant provocations, in particular, the spread by the Russian media of untrue reports of a ferry between Turkey and annexed Crimea, would not achieve the goal of destabilizing relations between Ukraine and Turkey.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey during the meeting also noted the Ukrainian-Turkish dialogue on cooperation in the field of maritime search and rescue, discussed the prospects for the development of combined transportation between the two countries, the constructive cooperation of the parties in the field of aviation, the result of will be increasing passenger traffic between Ukraine and Turkey.

Vladyslav Kryklii underlined that Ukraine is open to investors and interested in their involvement in the transport industry, in particular, a concession of ports, airports, railway stations, and roads is planned soon.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine announced the readiness of the Ukrainian side to amend the Agreement on International Road Transport connection and to liberalize road transport connection between Ukraine and Turkey as early as 2020.
