Multimodal transportations and digital transport corridors will contribute to the development of goods movement between GUAM countries and growth of our economies, - Vladyslav Kryklii

Today, on December 12, 2019, the Heads of Government of the GUAM member countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova) have a meeting in Kyiv. Vladyslav Kryklii, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine took part in the plenary meeting of the delegations of GUAM member countries.

Commenting on the outcome of the meeting, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine noted that the development of the GUAM transport corridor and the interaction within the GUAM, TRACECA and European TEN-T transport corridors will be important for the creation of a free trade zone for GUAM countries: “Multimodal transportations and digital transport corridors will contribute to the development of goods movement between GUAM countries and growth of our economies. We will also work on liberalization of air and road connection between our countries,” Vladyslav Kryklii said.

“We continued the dialogue that began in early December during my visit to Baku, where I met with the Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramin Guluzade, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov and the Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova Anatoliy Usaty. Our Azerbaijani colleagues are preparing a draft concept for the GUAM digital transport corridor. We plan to use this experience in the implementing digitalization on transport,” Vladyslav Kryklii said.

Following the meeting of the heads of governments, 2 documents were signed - Protocols confirming the common intentions on the mutual recognition of authorized economic operators and their operation, and the use of blockchain technologies with verification of certificates of origin of goods crossing the state borders of GUAM member countries.
