Kyiv Boryspil Express carried 1 million passengers - Dmytro Abramovych

Today, on December 27, 2019, First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Dmytro Abramovych, together with the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia Eugen Kravtsov, congratulated the millionth passenger of Kyiv Boryspil Express and launch a new diesel train on the route.

Dmitry Abramovych noted that the Kyiv Boryspil Express is in high demand among passengers and that is why it was decided to add a new diesel train to the route, in which the number of cars and seats was increased.

“During the year of operation, Kyiv Boryspil Express carried 1 million passengers. We see that the route is popular and we want to develop it further. The new train consists of three wagons and seats 470 passengers maximum, taking into account standing places. In addition, there is a barrier-free space for transporting people with disabilities in wheelchairs: a retractable ramp is installed, places for strollers and a spacious sanitary module are provided,” the First Deputy Minister said.

Dmytro Abramovych also said that the diesel train passed all the tests on the Kyiv-Ternopil-Kremenchug section and costs about 177 million UAH. This rolling stock has a more modern design and takes into account the needs of people with disabilities: “The train was built according to a new project in order to be modern and comfortable; there are a lot of new components and systems in it, in particular to increase the safety and reliability of operation. And most importantly - it is made in Ukraine,” the first deputy summed up.
